Mark rent received, not arrived or paid in part
Answer each rent date as received or not arrived yet, record part of it paid, and see what is still waiting on you. You can also forgive some of a rent date once it has fallen due.
Updated 18 October 2026
The app asks about each rent date from the week before it’s due. You answer on the property’s page, or under Account › All your properties › Rent, which has a card for each tenancy under Your tenancies.
- Find the rent on the property’s page, or on the tenancy’s card under Rent.
- If it has landed, tap Mark Received. On the property’s page, one tap records today’s date.
- Under Rent, the card asks for the Date it landed first. Choose it and tap Mark Received again.
- If it hasn’t landed, tap the card’s More button and choose Not Arrived Yet.
- If you tapped the wrong one, the message that follows a one-tap answer has Undo Received or Undo Not Arrived.
Once a reminder is ready, the card’s main button becomes Write Reminder, and Mark Received… moves under More. See Chase late rent with a reminder.
Correct the date it landed
- Under Rent, tap the tenancy’s name to open its rent page.
- Under Rent dates, tap Change beside the date.
- Choose the Date it landed and tap Save Date. The evidence file keeps the date recorded before, beside the new one.
Record part of the rent
- On the tenancy’s rent page, tap Part Paid beside the date. On its card under Rent, tap More and choose Part Paid….
- Enter the Amount that arrived (£) and the Date it arrived.
- Tap Record Payment.
What’s still to pay goes down; once all of it is in, the rent date is marked received on the date the last of it arrived. It goes in your books on the date it arrived. Recorded one by mistake? Open Part Paid again and tap Remove beside it.
Forgive some or all of a rent date
- Tap Part Paid beside the date.
- Tap Forgive Some or All… and type the amount forgiven.
- Tap Forgive Rent…, then confirm.
The rent itself stays as it is: this forgives money on that date only, once it has fallen due. Forgiving some rent that has already fallen due, with the rent itself unchanged, is the lower-risk way to give a concession.
See what’s still waiting
The tenancy’s rent page shows, under Waiting on you, what isn’t recorded as received: the dates marked not arrived, and the dates not answered yet. Where it applies, What the law says about arrears opens the rules behind it, with their sources.
