Keep the signed tenancy agreement

Add the signed agreement as a PDF or photos, replace it with a newer version, and have it checked against the app’s list of what it should say.

Updated 30 October 2026

The signed tenancy agreement is kept privately with its tenancy, on the property’s page under Tenancy, on every plan. It is also in Download Everything.

  1. Open the property from Properties, then open Tenancy.
  2. Below Signed agreement, in the tenancy’s details, tap Add Signed Agreement.
  3. Tap Choose Agreement and choose one PDF, or a photo of every page at once. Choosing them saves them: there’s no other button to tap.
  4. Signed agreement then shows the date it was added, with See File, or a link to each page.

A PDF can be up to 22 MB, or up to 10 photos for one agreement, up to 22 MB in all. Photos are JPEG, PNG or WebP.

Replace it with a newer version

  1. Beside Signed agreement, tap Replace.
  2. Tap Choose Agreement and choose the newer one.

The earlier one is kept under Previous versions, with the dates it was added and replaced. It is never deleted.

Check it against the app’s list

On Standard and Extra

Check It reads the agreement and lists what it found against the app’s items: the landlord and each tenant named, the property’s address, the start date, the rent, the deposit and its scheme, an address for notices, and the signatures. For a tenancy from 1 May 2026, it also checks there’s no fixed term, and that the rent goes up only by a section 13 notice.

  1. Turn on reading documents first, under Account › Emails and documents, in Reading documents. It says what is sent, and to whom.
  2. On the property’s page, below Signed agreement, tap Check It. It sends the agreement to Anthropic’s AI model, and uses one of the day’s reads.
  3. Wait, or leave the page: the check carries on.
  4. Read the result, headed Agreement check. What wasn’t found or was unclear comes first, each with where it was and the words read. What was found is folded away below, with What the check doesn’t look for.
  5. To run the check again, tap Check Again. A newer version you add has its own Check It.

The result says it is a check, not legal advice, and it doesn’t say whether the agreement is valid. Check anything that matters against the agreement itself.

On Free, the agreement is kept the same way, and the tenancy says checking it is part of Standard and Extra, with See Plans.
