Your name, address and how tenants pay you

Every notice and letter the app makes, and every rent reminder, gives your name and your address for notices. Every reminder also says how your tenants pay you. The first two are under Account › You, and the third under Account › Money.

Your name and address for notices

1. Go to Account, and under Settings tap You.
2. Under The name on notices, letters and reminders, check Your name and tap Save Name.
3. Under Your address for notices, type the postcode in Postcode to find the address and tap Find Address.
4. Choose the address, then tap Use This Address. Or tap Type It In Yourself.
5. Check the First line of address, Town or city and Postcode, and add a Second line of address or County if there is one.
6. Tick This address is in England or Wales, then tap Save Address.

Reminders are from this name, and your notices and letters are in it. If it includes a word a reminder can’t use, the screen says so, and no reminder can be sent until you change it. The address must be in England or Wales, or the app won’t save it.

Until you have given your tenant, by notice, an address in England and Wales where notices can be served, rent is treated as not due. Record the day you gave it on the tenancy, under Address in England and Wales for notices given to the tenant on. See Add a tenancy and its tenant.

How your tenants pay you

1. Go to Account, and under Settings tap Money.
2. Under How your tenants pay you, type what your tenants need in How to pay. The screen asks for the account name, sort code, account number and the reference to use.
3. Tap Save How to Pay.

Every rent reminder says this, word for word. A change goes into every reminder sent after it, so check the numbers carefully.
